Only 14 kilometres from orbost, Marlo is where the Snowy River meets the sea. It is a small community with great views and a history as a port where paddle steamers, ketches and schooners carried produce on the river and to Melbourne. In Obost, visit the Slab Hut Visitor Information Centre. This is an authentic early settler's hut relocated from upstream Snowy River. The Exhibition centre is next to the Slab Hut and has great art and wood work exhibitions at a very minimal cost. You should also wander down to the sensory gardens in Forest Rd just up from Forest Park.
